Ayurveda Snack Recipe • Crunchy and Sweet

This Ayurveda Snack Recipe will give your afternoon an energy boost! Ask Catherine how it tastes!

If you’ve attended my live events in the New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania area, you might remember Catherine. She was the one carrying healing oils, spices, vegetables and email signup clipboards when she worked as my Event Assistant for a summer a few years ago, between semesters at William Patterson University.

We had good times, and I was delighted to help open the door to a vibrant, new world for this lovely young woman, at a formative age.

A few months ago, I received a lovely email from Catherine, which led to her current position at ayurmama.com.

You showed me what it was like to make your passion into your job.

I watched you take care of your mind, body, and soul and I watched you teach others how to do that. You taught ME how to do that! You really opened my eyes.”

Now we’re here, 5 years later and I’m a full blown veggie-loving yoga teacher and lover of life.

I love Catherine’s positive energy and “can-do” attitude. Since our summer together, she wrapped up her degree in Communications and is now a craker-jack yoga teacher with lots of experience, too!

Now that she’s onboard here, she’s diving right in to set up my first-ever webinar – going live on Friday, January 16th. She’ll be the techie behind the scenes!

um…when she’s not busy chewing on brazil nuts and honey!

Brazil Nuts with Honey

Ingredients:

brazil nuts (V- P- K+)
honey (P+ K-)

Brazil nuts offer plenty of nutritive fat, which is nourishing and Vata pacifying – especially balancing for most of us in the fall and winter.

Brazil nuts give a satisfying, grounding kind of crunch sensation when crushed between the teeth, unlikely to aggravate Vata in any way.

Eating just 2 brazil nuts a day–perfect little snack!–has been found to be a rich source of selenium, and may protect the thyroid against flareups of autoimmune inflammation.

And honey? It’s a wonder food! Honey is used as a medicine in Ayurveda, especially to deliver the inherent qualities of herbal medicines to particular areas of the body’s tissues and fluids.

Brazil Nuts with Honey

Ingredients:

brazil nuts (V- P- K+)
